On Thursday, 9 November, ICPR will launch the fourth edition of the World Female Imprisonment List, providing a comprehensive account of the numbers of women and girls in prison across the world. With female prisoner numbers rising at a much greater rate than the male equivalent since 2000, the event is an important opportunity to consider some of the key causes and consequences of this worrying trend.
The event starts at 16.00 and ends at 18.30, with drinks to follow. It will take place at the offices of Clifford Chance, 10 Upper Bank St, Canary Wharf, London E14 5JJ.
